Hannah Magenta | Circles

Hannah Magenta is a vocal artist and conductor who has influenced the musical community in London from the moment she moved to the City. When she asked me to photographer her for her new album cover, I lept at the chance.

Hannah is fantastic to work with, always thinking of new ideas and bringing life and energy into the room. A person that once in your life, you will always remember her.

She writes from the heart and has a fantastic way of connecting wither audience through her lyrics and unique intonations.

“Hannah started songwriting in her early teens, influenced by artists such as Joni Mitchell, Carol King and the Cardigans. During her career as a singer she has worked with jazz star Wynton Marsalis, Disney, trance DJs Genix and Solarstone – as well as sung lead vocals for major dance labels. She has released two singles: ‘Circles’ and ‘Look Good in Blue,’ which were both BBC Radio Leicester Introducing Track of the Week. Her next single ‘Porcelain’ is due out in 2019.

Hannah is also a professional choral conductor and in 2015 appeared on the One Show when she was named BBC ‘Unsung Hero’ for her work with community music, founding four thriving community choirs in Leicester and London.  In 2017 she worked with Gary Barlow on his West End musical GIRLS, leading two massed choirs to perform with Barlow at the Royal Variety Show and the Olivier Awards. She also performed with the cast of GIRLS on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.”
