HAMMERSMITH TOWN HALL | Jan Erika Design

Hammersmith town hall has been in the early stages of its deign and redevelopment process for the last few years. However, we are now starting to see it take shape and form. And it looks great!

With the vision of becoming a destination for arts, cinema, community and business within a new community civic campus, the lay out and planning have been extensive. Incorporating a hard environmentally mindful edge with longevity designed into the fabric of the campus, they are looking to create something that will stand the test of time and bring the local residents a space and community to be proud of… breathing a new life into the already wonderful borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

We also hope that the new Civic Campus will act as a catalyst for growth and community cohesion, as well as to create a transformative shift in the delivery of council services and community placemaking.

As a part of the early stages, all new builds and spaces need a marketing suite and a space to welcome the public in, to better talk through and understand the development as it progresses.

In designing this space, the fabulous Jan Erika was asked to create a large scale piece of wall art that combined the idea of community, structure, design, modernity and the local area that the building is in. I was honoured to be asked to come and photograph the process and the final result.
