Crabtree and Evelyn | We Are Flying Object
Just starting to write this blog, looking at the images, encourages my mind to drift back joyfully to last summer, when we were foot loose and fancy free, travelling across London at the drop of a hat to enjoy the sunshine in a variety of parks and playgrounds.
It was a hot summer’s day when I got the call from The wonderful Kate Turner at Flying Object, asking me to shoot for Crabtree and Evelyn. The product is an experiential launch of their summer ice creams that have been made from the fragrances of their new collection.
She had me at Ice cream!
It’s a brand I have loved and resonated with for years, so I was really excited to be involved.
I was curious … as we know from parma violets, mixing fragrances and consumables can be an acquired taste and not necessarily a crowd pleaser! As usual, C&E delivers something spectacular with their usual authentic, delicate and tasteful aesthetic grace.
We had two events over a blindly hot summers weekend in London. One, at their Islington branch which also hosts a range of workshops and fun things to do that embrace their adventurous values, and the other under the shade of a tree in London Fields.
It was a hugely successful experiential event and I was so glad to be a part of it.
My post lockdown bucket list, includes a trip to their branch to pamper and be involved with they’re fantastic in house events.
For Those who are new to C&E, here is a little about them, from them:
Who we are | We’re a community of constant explorers – travelling the globe and breaking open horizons to breathe beauty into life.
Born Curious | Crabtree & Evelyn (or C&E, to our friends) was founded by wanderlust and nature enthusiast Cyrus Harvey. He explored the world and brought back capsule collections of the products from his adventures. He didn’t sell soaps, he sold stories. He connected with every place he visited and every person he met along the way.
Grown Wild | We honour our rich heritage, with an eye for the future. Our adventures bring the fuel. They bring us closer to our tribe, as we make meaningful connections across the globe. We surface unexpected experiences, challenge perspectives, test our limits.
Growth is the pursuit, but we never fully reach it. We keep pushing. We continue exploring in our wild, unruly, unique, untameable way that we do.
