The Smile Brigade | Fulham Covid Relief Initiative
The Smile Brigade are a Fulham based charity that have been working tirelessly throughout Covid to provide the vulnerable, elderly and less able community with hot meals and care packages in a non-contact socially distanced way.
They are one of very very few charities providing this service to people who would otherwise be forgotten, with almost no funding other than donations.
They have hundreds of volunteers that have answered the call to help support our community and documenting it seemed like the right thing to do to make sure that this epic story was told.

Their Mission
We aim to help provide support and relief to people in need during the COVID19 crisis by cooking and distributing between 1,600-2000 meals per week for a 12 week period. We will provide free meals and care packages to vulnerable residents living in Hammersmith and Fulham - with individuals able to refer either themselves or a friend. Our food - which is provided by our charity partners at The Felix Project and City Harvest London along with donations from local businesses, is then cooked by our head chef and partners at The Yellow Panda Pub Company. We then distribute our meals and care packages to our beneficiaries, courtesy of our lovely volunteers.
What we'll deliver:
We will cook in excess of 1000 meals per week
Deliver free meals to vulnerable residents
Provide free care packages containing toiletries and supplies to people who are vulnerable and at risk
Share food and resources with charities, organisations and services who cater for vulnerable clients
Why it's a great idea:
We hope to provide immediate relief to the the elderly, the sick and people in financial hardship. Our project will help ensure that our most vulnerable members of society have free meals and toiletries delivered directly to their door without the need to put themselves more at risk during the COVID19 crisis.
Our project will also mean that people who are in financial hardship and who cannot afford necessities such a food - will have regular meals delivered to their door. Our project also helps to relieve the effects of loneliness and isolation by reminding residents many of whom are living on their own that they are not alone and have people who love and care about them.
