Let's Talk Love!

Ahh love! February is filled with it! Red roses, chocolates, cards expressing multiple thoughts as if from cupids arrow itself.

I’m a big fan of love! But not in the way you might think…. It’s the connection, the sheer encompassing emotion that fills you from the tip of your toes to the top of your head, and all for another being! Eeeek! That’s beautiful, isn’t it?

Creating your own path to greatness

“As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world, but in being able to remake ourselves.”

Mahatma Gandhi

Success is defined in different ways by different people. For one person it might be owning a large villa in the South of France, for someone else it may be running a small local business. But real success is less about money and status and more about the path towards achieving goals and dreams.

The path that may be right for one person but not so much for the other!

Top Tips for a 'Tip Top' 2022

Have you felt it in the air?

This commitment and fierce determination for growth and self-promotion heading into 2022? It’s everywhere I look, the focus, the words of encouragement, the pride in self-love… it’s all consuming… and I have to say! I am fully onboard!I stand here looking at the years gone by, the enthusiastic promises of January’s past … 100% guilty of it myself!

Not anymore!

But these resolutions are easy to make and hard to keep for one very simple reason… they’re not realistic, or more detrimentally, they are too vague.

We’ve all been here before, skipping down the New Year’s resolutions rabbit hole starting out, full of optimism and enthusiasm… yet most of us start hungering for February and the permission to return to our old habits and comfort zones – and who can blame us... keeping promises to ourselves is hard, changing habits that are easy into ones that take dedication and hard work.. are, well… hard work!

Meet the 'Mel' in Mel Brown Studios

Hello friends!

I thought it was about time I properly introduced myself. I’ve been blogging here since 2016 and I haven’t formally introduced myself…. how rude! J That’s quite a few years of stories, photos and adventures, and a lot has changed since then.

If you have been with me a while…

If you’re new here, this blog is an expression of creativity, inspiration, and growth. I’m basically your go-to for the wonderful authentic journeys we embark on, creatively bringing these beautiful stories to life; be it through photography or creating the framework for live action through production, where I spend each day learning, growing, pushing boundaries, and finding new ways to create!

The Importance of Celebrating the Small Wins!

The concept of celebrating small wins seems simple, right? It often seems a lot easier said than done right? … but it doesn’t have to be…Let’s talk it through.

When was the last time you celebrated a win?

Recently?

Congratulations! That’s awesome!

Why I’m Celebrating and Going Sober This October

We all know I like any excuse for a celebration. As this month is all about celebration, I wanted to create some space for a conversation about a topic very close to my heart, a difficult conversation, that I believe is a great cause for celebration. How does celebrating and Sober October go together, I hear you say?

Bear with me…. Sober October is the time of the year – very much like Dry January - when some drinkers part ways with alcohol to either give their bodies a break or raise awareness for a charity that they support, for me, this year, it is MacMillan Cancer Support.

PORTRAITS | LIFESTYLE CONTENT

I have always been reluctant to get professional photos done because I feel awkward posing for photos, and I have so many smart phone photos I thought there was no point, but I’m SO HAPPY I changed my mind.

I didn’t feel awkward at all- in fact I hardly realised Mel was taking pictures- she just quietly took pictures of my son and I doing our thing. The result is beautiful, natural shots that I will treasure forever.

The photos are beautiful and ethereal and so, so much better than anything I could achieve myself.

100% can’t recommend Mel highly enough, and if, like me, you’re unsure, just do it- you definitely won’t regret it!
